Militancy cannot be stopped through execution: CTTC Chief Monirul

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner Monirul Islam on Friday said that militancy cannot be barred by imposing fines, sending them to jails or by executing them unless their brains are cleaned.

The participation of youths’ in the act of terrorism starts to take root in brain, he said adding that it is must to strike on their brain to culture good thought and stop terrorism.

Monirul, also chief of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of DMP, said these while addressing a workshop at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka.

 

He also claiming that the law enforcement agencies cannot curb the menace of militancy and extremism alone, the young generation has a big role to build a terrorism-free country from their part.
